The Verdict is in: The Hosted PBX is the top choice for SMB’s!

Cloud PBXA recent study finds that small to midsized enterprises are adopting Hosted PBX services as a means to reduce IT costs in record numbers. Furthermore, the already skyrocketing adoption rate is expected to double over the next half decade, with the number of SMBs using, at minimum, one cloud-based service tripling over the same time frame.

 

Hosted PBX  presents the small business market with the potential to harness the computing power of corporations much larger than their own, without the added expense of costly server upgrades and stack expansions. Not surprisingly, the survey found that fifty percent of all small to midsized businesses reported the cloud as being an important component of their business operations.

 

Global leaders in innovation, Microsoft, commissioned the study of 3,000 small and midsized enterprises in thirteen countries. Microsoft operator channel vice president Marco Limena was quoted as saying, “The cloud levels the playing field for SMBs, helping them compete in today’s quickly changing business environment, by spending less time and money on IT and more time focused on their most important priority – growing their businesses.”

 

With and impressive array of services, offerings, and options, communications-based services like email, instant messaging, voice communications, and backup are among the most commonly utilized hosted services accessed by SMBs. Edge Strategies, the research firm charged with carrying out the study, investigated SMB initiatives over the next three years and found that the same list of Hosted PBX services are also in the future and ongoing IT initiatives of businesses migrating to a cloud-based environment.

 

The findings of this study further strengthen the wide-spread belief that small to midsized enterprises are quick to embrace the benefits of Hosted PBX as a tool to enhance communication. Fiscally speaking, small businesses must keep pace with emerging communications technology in order to stay abreast of the competition.

 

Edge reported that the greatest driving factor among SMBs migrating to Hosted PBX services came from the ability to streamline costs (with many reporting financial savings of 54%) coupled with heightened desires to increase employee productivity.

 

For modern small business houses feeling the crunch of economical downturns, increases in productivity are crucial. Thanks to the inclusion of  hosted solutions, of the SMBs surveyed, sixty-three percent argue that embracing Hosted PBX will enable them to increase sales within the next 12 months, while fifty-eight percent affirm that using a Hosted PBX service strengthens their competitive edge in the marketplace.
